Product Spotlight with Special Guest Dina

Hello crafty peeps!

Today we are sharing another amazing card by the super talented Dina Kowal. This one features our Summer Blooms clear stamp set and some awesome techniques that Dina used on this card.

To create this faux wood background, Dina scored some lines then swiped down the panel with Mud Pie, Fog and Coal inks from Clearsnap to create the faux wood grain. A little misting with water brought out some pink tones from the Mud Pie ink. The main image was stamped on watercolor paper and then flower soft was added to the floral areas on the stamp to give the look of 3D flowers.

For a full list of inks you can visit Dina's blog HERE and to see more about this card and other creations, visit her blog, Dina Kowal Creative. Huge thanks to Dina for another awesome creation as our special guest!

Whimsy Stamps spotlight in Rubber Stamp Madness Magazine

It is my turn to post on the blog today and I am SUPER excited! This is the first time EVER that one of my cards has been published!! Woohoo!

If you take a look at the current issue of Rubber Stamp Madness Fall 2017 Magazine, you will see one of my cards and some of my colored images.
One of the spotlights on Whimsy Stamps is on page 26-28.

Here is my card:

I used a cutting file with my silhouette (from 'The Cutting Cafe') which cut out the outline shape of the beehive. I used embossed yellow cardstock for this.
I then used the Whimsy Stamps 'Honeycomb Pattern Die' with the same yellow cardstock to create the honeycomb pattern. I then glued this onto each individual panel (had I thought about it I would have adhered the honeycomb patterns before cutting the panels out!!)
I then doodled with some black ink to make the panels stand out a little more.
The door was made in the same way, although I used the negative part of the honeycomb die and added the black hexagons to the panel.

I used the Whimsy Stamps 'Build a Poinsettia Die' with white glitter cardstock to create the flower, folding it up along the creases for more dimension. Who says you can't just use the poinsettia dies for Christmas Cards??
I added a yellow enamel dot from Whimsy Stamps 'Christmas Cheer Collection', into the centre of the flower.
The image is from Whimsy Stamps 'Bee-cause Clear Stamp Set', colors with prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut out.
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps 'Bee Happy Clear Stamp Set', cut out using the 'Stitched Tag Dies'.

I love how this card turned out!
If you want to see more, check out the current issue of the Rubber Stamp Madness Magazine!

Thanks for looking!
Happy Crafting.

Little Christmas Angel

A very pink and girly Christmas card featuring one of the new Whimsy Stamps releases.  I adore Crissy Armstrong's images and this newest one is so so sweet.  The links to the products in the Whimsy Store are at the end of the post.

I made the poinsettias from foamiran and my the Lily Flower dies.  The little cherry blossom type flowers are made using  Peony Flower dies.  I love how the poinsettias turned out.  They were made from white foamiran and coloured with oil pastels.

Product Spotlight with Special Guest Andrea

Hello Crafty Peeps!

Today we are very excited to share another gorgeous mixed media piece for super talented Andrea Ockey Parr, from Snapping Monsters! Andrea has a very unique style that incorporates a vintage feel with bright cheery colors and the results of her work are stunning!

Her creation this time uses our Honeycomb Pattern Die and Handmade From Me clear stamps. Andrea started with a piece of scrap corrugated cardboard which was first painted and then cut it using the Honeycomb die.

The next step was to use an old recipe page and smear it with white paint. Then adhere the die cut to the page, popping out random pieces and adhering those randomly to the page as well.

Using bright acrylic paints in teal, yellow, green, and pink, Andrea randomly painted on the color!

Then she used a punch to create the heart, painted it and outlined with Sharpie Marker and adhered over the honeycomb. The sentiment, from Handmade From Me, was stamped and then cut and adhered to the heart.

The end result is this beautifully unique mixed media art! To see more about this project and Andrea's other amazing creations, be sure to pop over to her blog, Snapping Monsters, now!

Hello Friends,

Today we are excited to bring you some fun scene cards created by the talented Dina Kowal using our Christmas Scene Builder stamp set. This set is a great background builder or scene creating set. It's perfect for Christmas and New Year's but can also be used any time too.

Dina created these 2 stunning cards, but just using the Christmas Scene Builder set. To create the snowy background, Dina used watercolor paper and ink and then sprinkled on some Kosher salt and let dry. The effect is awesome and really looks like falling snow.

To see the full how to details on these 2 cards as well as all of Dina's awesome work, visit her blog, Dina Kowal Creative. Dina is a very talented artist and has some gorgeous paintings of pets that she's been working lately. They are so beautiful and almost look like photographs, her details are that awesome.

Penguin Baker

Howdy - MichelleO here today -
Yum Yum... Who doesn't love pie? Whimsy Stamps by Crissy Armstrong "Penguin Baker"
I colored up this little baker with my Copic markers (colors below) I went with a background coloring of a very light purple so I could match up with my pattern paper. Whimsy Stamps Digital paper "Tranquil Turquoise Papers collection" I love digital papers, never run out and no storage issues! LOL Sewed down the layers with a straight stitch on my sewing machine.
Die cut out the Whimsy Stamps Cherry Blossom Panel. Love this die.. I added some Ranger stickles to each of the flowers, and then decided that the top of the pie needed some "sugar" so I added more stickles to the pie.
For my sentiment I used the Whimsy Stamps Brush Script Uppercase dies and spelled out "Sweet As" with three dots of Whimsy Stamps Enamel Dots.
Love how cute this one turned out.
Here are the copic colors used -

Thanks so much -
MichelleO
