Stuck on You Cactus

Hello!

I have a simple layered card to share with you today using the cute and pretty
Fairy and Puppy rubber stamp.

I coloured this one all in Distress Ink markers as a bit of a change from Zigs and used some layers of patterned papers from my stash to match the colours to.
These aren't at all my 'usual' colour choices but I love them and I actually think they suit the stamp very well.

The sentiment is from the the clear stamp set Polka Dot Fun which has a great selection of simple sentiments that don't take up heaps of room and are great on little 'badges'.

I've listed the products available in the Whimsy Store at the end of my post, along with links to take you directly to the items, just click on the pictures.

Lilac and Butterfly

Hi all, Dorinda here.
I'm super excited to have the opportunity to share with you today.

I even come with a confession. We all do this.

The very first time I saw this image colored up, it was from the fabulous
Faye Wynn-Jones.
And a lot of intimidation happened.

I'm so glad I got over it because I just love this image and how it turned out.

This is
Lilac and Butterfly

from the new DoveArt Studios release

I colored it up with copics B66, 63, 60 but then took my prisma pencils to emphasize the depths.
The butterfly is done is V28, 15, 12
I think this really set it off perfectly to achieve the result I aimed for.

Take care.
XOXO

Mary

Hello Whimsy fans!

Today, it is me, Ellenor who is going to inspire you.
And I have used the beautiful Mary (Syliva Zet) for my card.

I took several photographs when I was coloring her, just to show you guys how it looks like when I'm working with a stamp.

I usually start coloring her face or hair.

Then the cloths.

Last the things around her, like the flowers and lamb.

This is the colour I have used:

A close up on my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today

Hydrangea Cluster

Happy Monday Whimsy Stamps friends, I hope you have had a
good February so far, isn't it scary just how fast time goes
this month has just rocketed by.
I have Hydrangea Cluster from Jennifer Dove to share with you today

I coloured it with Zig Clean Colour watercolour pens
i think i could use a little more practise with them
but ima always afraid of over working the watercolour paper.

I have used Deb Davis's Dies for the sentiment and the new
Flourish stencil to decorate the corners.
Have a lovely March whimsy fans and i will see you then

Rainbow Stripes

Hi everyone, Becky here today with a rainbow stripey card for you:

I stamped a whole panel in rainbow stripes using two stamps from Get In Line. I first stamped the wide stripes all the way down, let it dry for a minute, then stamped a thinner stripe right on top in the same colors. I trimmed off the part I wanted to use on this card and kept the other piece to use on a later card.
I stamped the "favorite" (from You're My Favorite), cut it out and put foam tape on the back. I attached the rainbow panel to a white card base, stamped "you're my" on it, added my previously-made "favorite", and put some clear sequins. Lastly, I went right over the black ink on "favorite" with crystal effects for some shine and more dimension.

You're My Favorite

Will Work for Rubber Stamps

This "Addicted to Rubber Stamps" set is so much fun for us stampers, there are a bunch of other funny (because they are true) sentiments in the set too, can you relate to any of them? ;o)

This was a quick card, I just cut an oval from white card stock and embossed it with a retired SU embossing folder then matted it with foam tape onto another white card.  I stamped my sentiment with Versafine black ink (my favorite ink for sentiments and details) and also the maid image so I could watercolor her.

I used watercolor pencils to color the maid then fussy cut her out without leaving any white border.  I love the perfect white border left when using dies but when I fussy I cut I almost never leave any white around the image.  I find it hides my mistakes better when cutting on the line.

To complete my card I popped the image up with foam tape and adhered everything to the front of a light gray card base.

I hope you enjoyed my post today and I hope you enjoy this stamp set designed especially for stampers.  I mean we make and send cards to non-stampers all the time but only another stamper can truly "get it" what we put into them and how much we love our hobby right?!
HAPPY STAMPING!

Meet Our Creative Team - Hester

Hello, I am Hester, I am married and we have a daughter. I work part-time as an intermediary and I am trainer /coach for a Korfball team. In my spare time mostly Sundays, I do some crafting. Now I make all my cards with the Silhouette Cameo. I design most of them myself.  I make cards, scrapbooks, treats and home deco.

1.)    If you had to choose, what would your top 3 favorite Whimsy products be and why?  The digital image, paper and sentiment. You can all mix and match them together.

2.)    If you could have a super power, what would it be? To stop the time so that I have more time for crafting.

3.)    What is your favorite color combo and favorite coloring medium? Purple, pink and red. I always color with Copics.

4.)    If you had to survive on just 3 foods, what would they be? Donuts, Indonesian food and water

5.)    What do you like most about being a member of the Whimsy Creative Team? I have a new creative family. Thank you all for being part of it.

This Lantern card is my favorite card because this was my first design in the Silhouette Cameo. You can get the template for free in the store https://whimsystamps.com/pages/digital-freebies

Bouquet for you

Hi everyone,
I am over the moon ever since I got my Daniel Smith watercolors, I am just enjoying watercoloring and there are so many gorgeous stamps released by Whimsy Stamps which are perfect to colour. Today I used a stamp set by Doveart called the Bouquet. Its a beautiful image to colour with any coloring medium.
I love painting my blooms in pink and violet shades as they always look natural & pretty. I used a die to cut the stitched rectangle and a beautiful sentiment that finishes the card so elegantly. I hope you liked this card for today and do try to recreate it :)
Hugs

Hydrangea Cluster

Hello Whimsy Friends! Iris here today with a card made using one of the new Whimsy Rubber stamps from the DoveArt line. This is one of my absolute favorites from the new line. It's called Hydrangea Cluster.

I stamped the Hydrangeas a few times onto Canson heavy weight (140lbs) watercolor cardstock with Distress Ink Antique Linen and colored using Daniel Smith watercolors. (see a list of colors used below). After the watercolors had dried thoroughly I fuzzy cut the Hydrangea flowers. The sentiment is from the Happy Headlines clear set by Deb Davis and was stamped using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and cut out afterwards. For the background I sponged Fossilized Amber Distress Ink all over the watercolor cardstock I used for the background. I spritzed it with water for some more interest and let it dry. Then I used the Brick Pattern Stencil and Fossilized Amber Oxide ink to sponge the pattern. Using the same color Oxide ink with the stencil as the background gives it a more saturated look and makes it stand out more as the Oxide ink is more opaque. After the ink was dry I applied Liquitex Gloss Super Heavy Gel to add some structure. This gel goes on white and dries crystal clear for an awesome glass like 3D effect.

Here is a closeup on the Hydrangeas. I also added a few crystal dew drops. Kind of hard to see in the photo but looks really nice in real life.

Daniel Smith water colors used:

Sap Green
Undersea Green
